AEC (Acoustic Echo Cancellation)
Removing the echo of a device's own speaker output from its microphone input during a call.
Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) removes the echo that occurs when a device's speaker output is picked up again by its own microphone, for example the far-end voice looping back during a call or video conference. Without it, participants hear themselves echoed back. AEC is essential in voice and communication systems, and is distinct from de-reverb, which removes room reflections rather than device echo.
