Bleed
Unwanted sound from one source captured by a microphone meant for another, blending sources together.
Bleed (also called spill) occurs when a microphone picks up sound from sources other than its intended target, for example a vocal mic capturing nearby drums. Bleed blends sources together in a recording, making them difficult to edit or balance separately later. Source separation can help recover cleaner individual elements from recordings affected by bleed.
