Dry
An audio signal with no added effects or reverb; the raw, unprocessed sound.
Dry refers to an audio signal with no added effects or ambience, in particular no reverb, presenting the sound on its own as recorded or isolated. It is the opposite of wet, which has effects or room sound applied. Dry signals are valuable in production because effects can then be added with full control; de-reverb, for example, aims to recover a drier signal from a reverberant recording.
