Time-Domain

A representation of audio as a waveform, showing how the signal's amplitude changes over time.

The time-domain represents audio as a waveform: amplitude plotted against time, the most direct depiction of a signal as it unfolds. It is the counterpart to the frequency-domain. Some separation models work directly on the time-domain waveform, while others first convert to the frequency-domain; each approach has tradeoffs in quality and speed.
