Remastering
Creating an improved version of an existing recording for modern playback or formats.
Remastering is the process of producing a new, improved master of an existing recording, often to meet modern loudness, clarity, or format standards such as immersive audio. Access to separated stems gives engineers far more control, letting them rebalance and enhance individual elements of a finished mix rather than working only with the stereo master. This is especially valuable for archival catalog whose original session files are lost.
