Stem

An individual audio track isolated from a mix, such as vocals, drums, bass, or dialogue.

A stem is a single component of a larger mix, isolated as its own track, for example the vocals, drums, or bass of a song, or the dialogue, music, and effects of a film soundtrack. Stems give producers, editors, and rights holders the flexibility to remix, remaster, localize, or license individual elements. When original stems are unavailable, AI source separation can create them from a finished recording.
