SRT (SubRip Subtitle)

A plain-text subtitle file format with simple start/end timecodes.

SRT (SubRip Subtitle, .srt) is one of the most widely used subtitle formats, pairing numbered caption blocks with start and end timecodes and plain text. Note this is distinct from SRT the transport protocol (Secure Reliable Transport); in captioning contexts SRT always means the SubRip file.
