The digital television closed caption standard for ATSC broadcasts.
CEA-708 (also EIA-708) is the closed captioning standard for digital and HD television, supporting richer formatting, fonts, colors, and positioning than CEA-608. It is the caption layer for ATSC broadcast in North America and typically backward-compatible with 608 data.
