Prosody

Prosody is the melody of speech: its rhythm, stress, pitch, and intonation, the qualities that carry emotion, emphasis, and meaning beyond the literal words. Capturing natural prosody is a major challenge for text-to-speech and dubbing, and analyzing it helps systems understand tone and intent. It is a big part of what makes synthetic speech sound human or robotic.
