Recording is the process of capturing sound, for example vocals or acoustic instruments, and converting it from an analog signal into stored digital audio. It is the origin point of the audio production chain. Recordings captured as a single mixed file, without separate tracks, are exactly the material that AI source separation can later break back into stems.
