SMPTE ST 2110

A standard for carrying video, audio, and data as separate synchronized streams over IP in professional broadcast.

SMPTE ST 2110 is a suite of standards for transporting professional media over managed IP networks, carrying video, audio, and ancillary data as separate, individually routable streams kept in sync by a shared PTP timing reference. It has become the backbone of modern IP broadcast facilities, replacing older baseband connections like SDI. Its audio layer builds on AES67.
