Acapella

A singing vocal recording presented on its own, with no instrumental backing.

A cappella refers to singing vocals presented entirely on their own, with no instrumental accompaniment. The term originally described unaccompanied choral singing, but in modern production it usually means a vocal track isolated from a finished mix. A cappellas are used for remixing, sampling, mashups, and analysis. When the original vocal stem doesn't exist, AI vocal isolation can extract an a cappella from a stereo recording.
