LRA (Loudness Range)
A measure of how much loudness varies across a program.
LRA (Loudness Range) quantifies the statistical spread between the quietest and loudest sustained passages of a program, expressed in LU. It helps engineers judge whether content needs compression for a given platform: a film mix may have a wide LRA while a news broadcast or podcast is kept narrow for consistent playback on phones and TVs.
