Channel Mapping
The assignment of audio content to specific channels in a delivery file.
Channel Mapping defines which audio ends up on which numbered channel or track of a deliverable, for example channels 1-6 as 5.1 and 7-8 as a stereo fold-down. Broadcasters and platforms publish strict channel-mapping specs, and errors are a frequent cause of QC rejections.
