Sample Rate
How many audio samples are captured per second (in kHz); higher rates capture more detail.
Sample rate is the number of audio samples captured per second, measured in kilohertz (kHz). A higher sample rate captures a wider range of frequencies and more detail. CD-quality audio uses 44.1 kHz, while professional and video work often uses 48 kHz or higher. Sample rate is distinct from bit depth, which is the resolution of each individual sample.
